How I work
As an integrative therapist, I draw on different therapeutic approaches to provide the best support for you. In our sessions, you will have a safe space to talk openly about anything in your life, including things which feel confusing, painful, or difficult. My role is to create an environment where you feel truly heard and understood.
Together, we will explore the underlying causes of your challenges, at a pace that feels right for you. The aim of this process is to help you gain a deeper understanding of yourself, leading to increasing self-awareness. We will work together to find ways this understanding can then be used to make positive changes in how you live and in your relationships.
I will help you recognize and challenge negative or unhelpful thoughts and behaviors that are causing you harm. We will work to find more effective ways of thinking and acting that enable you to feel better about yourself and your choices. Over time, we will develop practical tools to help you manage your struggles and apply what you’ve learned to make lasting improvements in your way of life.
I aim to provide a safe and welcoming space for those identifying as LGBTQIA+ who may have been negatively impacted by experiences of homophobia/transphobia, stigma, discrimination, social isolation, exclusion and rejection to name a few. In our work I will offer tools of compassionate enquiry for you to explore your feelings, face past traumas and develop more self-acceptance.
I have completed a diploma in Anti-Discriminatory Therapeutic Practice, which has deepened my understanding of cultural diversity and enhanced my ability to work effectively with people from all backgrounds. I am committed to fostering an inclusive and respectful environment, and seek to approach all clients with cultural awareness and sensitivity, while also recognizing the intersectional challenges faced by some. In our work my aim is to provide a space to explore all aspects of your identity and in particular how these different parts all combine to create your unique self.
Regardless of the approach, the goal is always to help you gain self-awareness and apply it to create meaningful, positive change.
